Fowler (1945)
The American ichthyologist Fowler described the color of this species is olive brown. The head and front part of the body have innumerous white spots. The dorsal and caudal fins are gray, with dark bands, the paired fins whitish, and cross-banded. The tentacles of the males may branch up to four times. The species name is sometimes erroneously given in the hobby, however, the species has never been imported.
