Small to medium-sized brown Ancistrus with a beautiful mosaic or honeycomb pattern when being comfortable. The fins assume a stunnning reddish brown banded pattern as the fish grow older. The caudal fin of juvenile Ancistrus sp. (L 111) has a white seam, which fades away with age. The males have impressive tentacles. There is a pattern of light-colored spots with a dark rim on the ventral side.
