References
Schraml, (1992);
This medium-sized, dark brown Ancistrus has very large, differently shaped cream-colored spots, especially when young, creating an attractive honeycomb pattern. In young fish, the caudal fin is narrowly reddish-brown and then broadly edged in white. The edges become narrower with age. Males develop a strong antler of partially branched tentacles.
