This is a distinct dwarf species reaching a maximum length of only about 8 cm. The largest type specimen had a standard length of only 66.5 mm. The coloration is dark brown to black with fine white dots. The tips of the caudal fin are white in older specimens (this feature is absent in L 032!), juvenile specimens have a white fin seam there. Ventral side dark (another difference from L 032).
