The largest documented specimen has a standard length of only 5 cm, and gonadal maturity has been observed. However, it is a plainly gray-colored species that shows five regular cream-colored areas on the body. The species name was dedicated to the indigenous Karajás people who live on the banks of the habitat. It may be the smallest known Ancistrus species.
