This species' coloration is gray, with numerous small, round, light-colored spots. The ventral side of adult specimens shows a similar pattern. Caudal fin with light-colored tips. The males develop strong tentacles in all areas, which are rarely branched. Adult females also show no or only tiny tentacles on the edge of the snout.
