Medium-sized, dark brown bristlenose catfish with cream-colored spots and a long body. The head is long, the distance between the eyes is large, and the caudal peduncle is quite high. Males with long, mostly unbranched tentacles. The females of this Ancistrus show no or only a few very short tentacles on the edge of the snout.
